Summary: Dont use with extension cords
Comment: As another reviewer mentioned, this unit is not recognized by my computer if I plug it in through a USB extension cord. It is very strange because the unit works fine if plugged directly into the computer. Other 2.0 deviced work fine through the same extension cord this was attempted with.

Yes, it is made of plastic and feels a little cheap. I bought this because it was the cheapest USB hub on Amazon, so I can't really complain. I use it everyday and it hasn't broken. The transfer rates are fine for my needs, even when transferring large photo files from my dSLR.
I find the ports to be a little snug, but not tight like some reviewers state. I wish that the cable was a little longer though.

Comment: I have been using this for a week now. Haven't really experienced any problems with it as of YET. By reading some other reviews, I should. But I haven't yet. If you are looking to add 3 more ports to your computer (1 you'll use up to plug this hub in), this is a good and cheap way to go.
