This adapter quickly transmits data from your Polar heart rate monitor to your PC, so you can take an in depth look at your progress. Use the IR Interface to upload training zones and timers from your PC, store and analyze critical performance data and maintain a detailed training log. Adapter enables two-way IrDA communication with a PC using the USB port. Includes: IrDa USB 2.0 USB Adapter, cable, CD-ROM, user manual and driver setup. Not compatible with Polar S610, S710, S810 and E600.

Customer Rating: Summary: Unstable and intermittently functional Comment: I received this as part of a bundle, not through Amazon, but because I use Amazon for a lot of purchases I feel compelled to register my concern over this component here. I run it with a Polar RS400 (which I really like) and use Windows XP SP2. I have to cross fingers, say a prayer, extract my running data and then quickly disconnect the IR device before I get a blue screen of death. Half the time the IR device goes into a continuous transmit state and won't talk with the RS400 at all. I have never had this much trouble with a peripheral that wasn't obviously physically defective. Do not buy this, and communicate with Polar to provide a better interface to their products.
Customer Rating: Summary: Temperamental but functional Comment: I have the polar S625X HRM. The adapter Interface works reasonably well on my Mac Pro (2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon) with Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac (Build 5608) running windows xp pro (5.1.2600 SP3 Build 2600). Still, Mac OS X 10.5 running Parallels running windows running the Polar software is a pretty desperate solution. Polar abandoned Mac users long ago; consequently, I can NOT rate this more than 3 stars.
Temperamental? After setting the HRM to connect mode I have to lay the HRM face down with no more than 2-3 inches between the HRM's ir window and the adapter interface, then cuff my hand over the adapter without blocking the line-of-sight between the HRM Ir window and the Adapter Interface to shield from ambient light. Sometimes I also have to toggle the STIr42xx device off and on in Parallels... Like another reviewer said: definitely NOT plug-n-play!
Customer Rating: Summary: Works fine for me Comment: I use this to update my exercises from a Polar F55 to their web site. Works everytime without a problem. I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition.
Customer Rating: Summary: It flashes but doesn't work Comment: I was really disappointed with this product. It may not be the product itself, but when it is plugged into my usb port it many times shuts down my computer.
Customer Rating: Summary: Don't Buy It Comment: Don't buy this USB Interface. It says it's compatable with Windows, but it isn't. As soon as you install the drivers, Windows provides a warning that it is not compatable - and Windows is right. Once you install it, your system becomes unstable and doesn't work properly anymore. There is nothing like having to re-install your operating system. Polar generally makes good products, but this is pathetic and they should fix it. A word to the wise - don't buy it.
