Comment: Can you get any better than this? Premier flutist with his flutist wife playing music of his favorite composer, Mozart? with wonderful harpist and accompanying orchestra.
This is exceptional musical offering, showcasing of course Galway's remarkable clear flute tones, with great dynamics and phrasing.

Comment: James Galway recordings are always a treat. "My Magic Flute" contains a beautiful recording of Mozart's Flute and Harp concerto, as well as transcriptions of the slow movement of Piano Concerto No.21 (Elvira Madigan), an aria from Zaide, and Rondo alla Turca, wonderfully arranged for flute and orchestra. But the real gem is "The Magic Flutes", an arrangement of Mozart melodies from his vast ouput (symphonies, concertos, operas) expertly arranged for James and Jeanne Galway (his wife) and orchestra. It reminds me of a "Hooked on Classics (Mozart)", but only so much better!!! Pure enchantment. Five solid stars!!!!
