Customer Rating: Summary: Normal Comment: All perfect. No manual or cd, but expected. Good value for the price. Picked up DHCP from router without a problem.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice printer, but difficult to set up Comment: I just got my ML2571N this afternoon, but without a user guide in written form, it was frustrating to set up. Loading the toner cartridge was difficult without written instructions, and I didn't realize the manual was on the CD until I tried to reload the software. When I read that the cartridge had to click in place, everything went smoothly, and before I could say Jack Flash, my printer was spewing out great printed copy. I purposely sought out Samsung because I've had excellent luck with this manufacturer's products (now if we could get them to document and print too!) One thing I don't especially care for is the fact that the loaded paper tray must be open to print (takes up an additional 5" in front). I guess you can't expect an inexpensive printer to act like an expensive one! All in all, I'm quite happy. Now all I need is a modern computer to go with this new laser job.
Customer Rating: Summary: Cheap but low quality printer Comment: I wanted to replace my Samsung ML-1710 who has been working fine the last 3-4 years with ML-2571N. But, ordering it from Circuit City was a big mistake. The rebate form did not print completely from the Circuit City web site and took me over on hour on the phone and two visits to the local Circuit City store to get the correct rebate form. In mean time I decided to give the printer a try. The printer is much lower quality than ML-1710. The top of the printer get very hot while printing and curls the printed pages. I tried to exchange it but the local store manager would not give me the exchange, telling me that was normal. At the top of all, when I decided to return the printer, they charged me 15% restocking fee saying "it is the industry standard". I checked local Staples store who is selling the same printer but do not have restocking fee on printer returns. Also, I found from them, that Samsung printers have the highest rate of returns. So if you have time and money to waste, buy it from Circuit City.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great, fast and Clean printer Comment: I have been using this printer on an all Mac network at my office for about 8mo.s. Besides the fact that it is a little loud when it gears up to print, it is a very good printer. It will occasionally need to be rebooted when it becomes unresponsive. Other than that, it's perfect.
You can't beat the quality and price. It's very fast also.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Printer Comment: I have only had it for a day.
The print quality is excellent.
The documentation is terrible and the Samsung website is pathetic. Samsung's knowledgebase website won't work with Safari or Firefox!!!!
You have to have a brain the size of a (small) planet to figure out how to get the networking working, but luckily I do.
Works great from my XP desktop, XP wireless laptop, and Mac.
Prints fast. Loud but not bad. When I print on 3x5 cards they come out curled, but regular paper comes out OK.
I will update this as I use it more.
