Editorial Reviews:

Image provided courtesy of Muzi muzi tea bowls, or chawan, are all hand made by skilled artisans in toki city, gifu prefecture, japan. each tea bowl is made according to the historic designs of mino yaki. thus, although the general design is similar, each bowl is unique in form. the asymmetry of each bowl was carefully designed to reflect the beauty of imperfection, or beauty of nature that is firmly ingrained in the philosophies of zen buddhism.

Summary: Aesthetic & Functional
Comment: Has more pronounced potter's marks than the picture shows, which gives it a beautiful hand-crafted appearance. Localized speckles of green glaze and mixed earth tones give it a subtle but attractive look. The size and weight feels comfortable in my hand, and insulates just enough to cool 195F water down to "just right" for drinking Matcha in ~20 seconds, without letting it get cold too fast.

The only flaws I find with it is that its naturally less portable than something like a titanium double-walled bowl, and it has a small recess in the bottom from two-part construction that makes it slightly harder to whisk completely than a smooth bottom construction would.

However, if you're not planning on traveling with it often, this is an understated, functional, and very attractive choice.
