Liquid Chalk - Works like a Marker Dries like Chalk - Set of 8 Primary Colors ....Used by Starbucks on their Coffee of the Day Menu Boards! Liquid Chalk offers an innovative alternative to traditional chalk. They work on any non-porous surface. No dust. No smearing. They easily wash off any non-porous surface. The markers blend beautifully-allowing you to color your world exactly how you want it to look. The chisel tips on the markers measure approximately 6mm. To start: Always shake well with the cap on to mix the ink. The first time you use any marker depress the tip on scratch paper until the ink completely fills the tip. Some folks prefer to "pre pump" all the markers before starting a project. For text: Write as you would with any marker. Depress tip on scratch paper to refill tip as needed. Youâll love the vibrant colors. For a painterly effect: Color in with first color and allow to dry completely. Apply second color using cross hatch strokes to achieve coverage and a textured effect. To blend colors: Use colors over one another while wet. Other tools such as soft paintbrushes or cotton swabs can be used to blend. Allow extra time for blended colors to dry completely. Dab tip of marker on scratch paper to clean colors. To erase: Spray with an ammonia based cleaner (such as Windex) and wipe with damp cloth or paper towel. For thicker applications of color allow to soak then wipe off.

Summary: Try Kuretake Markers
Comment: I love liquid chalk markers! My favorite brand is Kuretake [...] The Kuretake line is one of the best-selling chalk marker brands in Europe. Very useful for creating colorful menus and artwork. I have a set at home and they work wonderfully. Addressing the other reviewers concerns, the Kuretake markers have a nice flow, wipe clean, and can easily write on vertical boards.

First, I tried the markers on my black filing cabinet at the office. The colors came out great! Then, I used them to play with my little nephew when he came over to my house. He drew pictures all over our sliding glass door. It kept him entertained for a least a good half hour, which is so valuable! Best of all, the markers wiped clean in one easy swipe. I highly recommend them!

Summary: Not a good replacement for regular chalk for home use.
Comment: I bought these thinking they might be nice to use and keep the chalk dust down, but I have found that I really do not like them. I wanted to use these at home to write on my chalk board. Getting them ready for use is not particularly easy. I ended up wetting the tip to help get the fluid to come down and then of course they were watery for a while. It is a good idea to not let the tip dry out, so somewhat regular use is best. Something else I did not like about them is that I couldn't just wipe away the "chalk" after it dried. I had to use something wet and then it smeared the "chalk". So I couldn't just easily remove one line from a list of items with this. No where on the package or the markers does it include a list of "ingredients" so I have no idea what is in these. They do not have a strong smell, thankfully. In the end I would say that because they do not rub off easily that they would be great for a place like a store that needs to completely clean their board and write new things on it and need it to not wipe off easily. But for home use I found these were not a good solution. I'm just going to go back to using regular chalk.

Summary: HARD TO USE
Comment: THESE MIGHT BE EASIER IF I WASN'T TRYING TO WRITE ON A WALL (ISN'T THAT WHERE A CHALKBOARD GENERALLY IS?). YOU MUST PRESS ON THE TIP TO GET THE "CHALK" TO COME DOWN INTO THE TIP, SO TRYING TO WRITE ON A WALL ISN'T EASY. I WILL LOOK FOR ANTOHER OPTION.

Summary: Good product, little expensive
Comment: I really like the effect I get with the Liquid Chalk. They are easy to use and the colors are bright. I wish they didn't cost so much because I would use them more
