Customer Rating: Summary: Not what I expected Comment: I purchaed this phone becasue I work from home, and use a headset that I wanted to plug into a corded phone, directly. I am currently using a headset/handset switch from Radio Shack to convert my current corded phone that does not have a jack built in, to accomodate a headset. While it works well, I wanted eliminate the "middle man" so to speak.
The Panasonic TS620B is a good basic phone, but the battery only feature was an issue, as well as the fact that the display has no back light. The voice volume was also terribly loud and could not be controlled. The most disappointing thing, however, was the fact that when using the headset, you must return the handset to the cradle, but also press the headset button, or the dialtone will stay "open", even after the handset is back in place. In addition, I noticed that after the handset was returned, AND the headset button was pressed to disconnect, after about a three second delay, the phone would reconnect on it's own and a dialtone would be present for about 5 seconds and then shut off. I noticed this because I usually do not remove my headset between calls while I am making notations. Also, you cannot switch from the headset to the handset if you need to, mid-call. My Radio Shack unit has a nifty switch that lets you flip from one to the other. So I'm staying with my existing phone, and keeping the "middle man".
Customer Rating: Summary: PANASONIC KX-TS620B Comment: While reviewing multiple phones, I saw the pluses and shortcomings on numberous models. Everything I've read on this model is true, but it serves my purpose for a home phone. I simply purchased a small light to see who is calling me late in the evening to address the most addressed issue in the reviews.
Customer Rating: Summary: A corded phone with a brain: Comment: Thought I would say that people now are turning more to corded phones as they are spending more and more time per phone call dealing with recalcitrant and incompetent billing and service agencies, and running out of battery power on their cordless phones. Well, this is the perfect answer; and speaking of answers, this phone is also an answering machine, so you won't miss that message from mom, or your brother asking for money. And it's a Panasonic, so you know the company won't be out of business next month when you need tech help or warranty service. All in all, a good choice. And the price is reasonable for a premium quality phone. You won't be disapppointed here. Thumbs up...
Customer Rating: Summary: I Love This Phone!!!!! Comment: Just got it today--came after 1 day!!! This phone is unbelievably easy to use and set up--perfect for a technophobe like me. But that doesn't mean it's not sophisticated...has all the basic features. Excellent sound quality. What really impressed my is that it immediately began picking up my messages--I have VoiceMail which I'll be getting rid of--and I didn't have to do anything fancy to turn VM off and the phone answering on. Only drawback is lack of battery backup. Love the sleek black look of it too!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Phone Comment: I love this phone. It does what I need it to do. I use it with a cordless Plantronics headset & it is terrific.
