Comment: These coasters are very nice looking but they actually absorb some of the sweat from your glass, leaving them a slightly lighter color. These coasters aren't lined with any felt on the bottom, either.

Comment: These coasters are beautiful. They are quite thick and don't stick to even the most moist of glasses. The holder is sturdy and I love that the entire set is made from 100% renewable bamboo!

Summary: Great Until You Use Them
Comment: I bought the Lipper Bamboo Coaster set because I love the look of bamboo products. However, I've had these coasters for a few months now and overall I'm not very impressed.
At first glance the coasters look really nice, but upon a closer inspection they are indeed roughly made like others have already mentioned. Now if that was the only problem, then I would still like these coasters because it makes them more natural looking. But, after using 3 of the 6 coasters I have noticed large water stains as a result of my glasses sweating. This has made the coasters look horrible.
In addition to becoming stained with heavy use, the coasters do not absorb water at all. So if you have glasses that sweat a lot, you are going to end up with a pool of water that can leak off the coasters.
Final Note: If you want a coaster that actually absorbs water, then stay away from these bamboo coasters. If you don't want to spend the extra to get the better sandstone ones, then I would recommend you try the AbsorbaStone coaster. AbsorbaStone is equivalently priced to these bamboo coasters, and they are a lot more functional.

Summary: Good-looking and sturdy, but lacking in coating
Comment: I gave these coasters 3 stars because, although I like them and based on the material think they will be durable (and they look nice enough), I think they could use a varnish coat because the wood is a bit rough on those blunt edges in the middle of the coaster. Beware of splints.
