Editorial Reviews:

We designed JimiTM for a simple reason, we hated wallets. They were always too bulky for our pockets, and magnets for useless crap. Just wanting to carry some cards and cash, we used binder clips, rubber bands, money clips, and card cases, but none really did the job. We figured we can't be alone here, and started talking to people about how they carried their stuff. We found out that there was a lot of ill will to the seemingly innocuous wallet. People had really strong feelings. Really. Ask someone how they feel about their overstuffed wallet. So we thought, what the hell, let's re-invent the wallet. Make a real pocket wallet. And try and do it with some social responsibility - sweatshop free, made in America, environmentally conscious, that kind of thing. The result is JimiTM, a next generation wallet, which doesn't look or behave like any wallet you've seen before. It's compact and unfussy, carries a few cards, cash, and hangs from your neck or fits in your front pocket or the slimmest of bags. Simple.

Summary: Great for the minimalist
Comment: I love my Jimi! I have the aqua blue one. I have not noticed scratches, but I also don't really care. I'm sure there are some, but they don't show up much on the lighter colors, I suspect. I got the Jimi because I don't always like to take my purse with me. I use one credit card all the time and don't usually carry cash. So, I basically just have my credit card and driver's license in my Jimi. Every once in a while I have one other card or some cash. It doesn't hold much, even though it looks like it holds more. You cannot put more than a couple cards in it, or it will not close. I've had my Jimi for a year and use it pretty much everyday. It is still holding up just fine. No signs of breakage or anything. I throw it in my purse and in my gym bag with my keys and cell phone, and it's fine. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I think it could be thinner. There are wallets out there just like that, but typically, your cards are exposed, and I don't like that. I get comments on my Jimi all the time. Everyone thinks it is quite cool. I have to agree. I can put it in my pocket or carry it in my purse or wherever. I will say it took a little getting used to, and I had to get my cards in the right place that works for me. I put my credit card on one side and my DL on the other side. It works for me. I got one for a friend in pink, and she loves hers as well. It may not be for everyone, but if you are a minimalist, you may like it. I wish there was a way to attach a cell phone to it. I never use the keychain hole, by the way. Not really sure why that's there.

Summary: Great
Comment: The wallet for people who hate wallets? I certainly qualify! The Jimi is only slightly bigger than a credit card, holds four of those and some bills; it forced me to be a litle more organized, but the results have been fantastic: goodbye huge wallet bulging with cash and bits of paper, hello slenderness. I wish my mobile phone was this skinny.

My clear jimi is showing some wear and tear, which is normal after three years of everyday rough use; I've had German made leather wallets that lasted a third of that. I now have the black jimi and I'm hoping to get an orange one.

Beyond its practical side people still seem to go crazy for these, particularly when you open them at the touch of a "button".

Summary: Lacked qaulity
Comment: Although this product looks as though the quality should be higher, and the selling points listed might have you believe it,
this Jimi wallet is not worth purchasing.
Low end quality is best used by a very young child.
I doubt it was meant for an adult?

Summary: Neat execution, poor quality
Comment: I've owned two of these wallets, the first I purchased in late 2005, and used for two and a half years until my daughter pulled the top off. The second has lasted almost 4 months, and the "hinge" part is in the process of falling apart.

I don't know if Jimi is using a cheaper plastic, or if the second one I purchased was a lemon. Then there is the possibility that the first was just a really good instance.

I like the idea--I am able to carry 6 cards in it with little problem (most are IDs of some kind (gym, DL, etc.) and thinner than credit cards) and it sits nice and flat in my front pocket (I detest sitting on a wallet)--unfortunately the execution is just not there.

Summary: The opposite of mini...
Comment: This wallet is HUGE! It's larger in my pocket than any other full-size billfold or wallet I've owned.

On top of that, it's hard plastic, so once this ginormous beast is placed in your pocket, you're in store for one heckuva chiropractic adjustment. At this thickness, I'd almost expect it to be bulletproof.

If size doesn't matter (which it always does), then this wallet may suit your needs. Otherwise... Stay away!
