Summary: Solid performer, shame about the drivers. . .
Comment: I've been using this mouse/keyboard combo for about 6 months now and don't have any real complaints with the hardware.
Keyboard:
The keyboard is easy to type on and has a nice wrist rest. It's a bit larger than the standard Mac keyboard, due to the aforementioned wrist rest plus media control buttons on the sides, but it's not much larger than that. It's definitely not for space restricted desktops, though, and you'd be better off getting the Apple wireless keyboard (which is also nice). The white/aluminum color matches my Mac mini quite well and looks like it belongs there. The keyboard is comfortable for typing with fairly good travel on the keys and a standard feel. Nothing special here, but not the same feel as the Apple keyboards (particularly the wireless Apple keyboard), more of a traditional keyboard setup without the "click" that some may prefer to have.
Mouse:
The mouse is very nice. As another reviewer mentioned, it's similar to the 600 series, though without any LED lights for e-mail, etc. The mouse has nice weight and is comfortable in my mid-large size hands. It's amply precise for my uses as well, though I don't think it's really set up for hard core gaming or ultra-precise graphics editing, though this is more a fault of OS X's mouse acceleration feature (which can be disabled) than Logitech. A nice touch on this mouse is some volume control buttons and a forward/back button for web browsing.
Wireless:
This mouse/keyboard combo uses a separate USB plug receiver to communicate. This provides solid communication without delay and is far superior to most of the other wireless setups I've used in my office that has a fair amount of electromagnetic interference in the area that caused other keyboards and mice to hiccup at times. The down side of this is that it will use up one of your USB ports (unless you have a hub). It does not use Bluetooth, which most Macs today have built in.
Battery Life:
I use the keyboard/mouse combo for about 6 hrs per day typing several dozens of pages of text and jumping around between pages and applications. As mentioned above, I've had this combo for 6 months, and I have the same batteries I originally put in them. The mouse uses 2x AA batteries and the keyboard uses 2x AAA.
Software:
This is the Achilles heel of this combo. The software is optional, and the keyboard and mouse will function perfectly well without installing the Logitech Control Center software, but you lose the functionality of the multimedia buttons. It appears that Logitech is still very much stuck in the Windows mentality of having burdensome third-party drivers come with their hardware to "enhance the user experience" that ends up just slowing the whole thing down. Granted, this set of drivers, as of summer 2008, was not as intrusive as some of their drivers for other hardware, it's not as invisible as I would like. Given that, I'd still recommend installing them vs. skipping them (as I would recommend for most other Logitech stuff I've tried on Macs), as the added capability through the custom buttons is handy.
Price:
This is one of the strongest features of this product. You can get a great wireless keyboard and mouse combo for the same price or less than the current wireless Apple keyboard alone. The keyboard is just as good as Apple's and the mouse is vastly superior than Apple's wireless Mighty Mouse, one of the worst mice I've ever used.

Summary: Plug & Play Works!!!
Comment: Firstly the keyboard just looks straight up sexy. Very clean design! The keys feel very padded and are fairly quiet. Best of all, plug & play actually pulled through! My computer was off, plugged in the USB dongle, and booted up. The mouse and keyboard worked right away. Woohoo!

The wireless keyboard and mouse that came with my Mac Pro desktop were fun to look at but useless in any practical sense. I invested in the Logitech S 530 package. The mouse is fabulous, but the keyboard with all its sophisticated bells and whistles has a couple of fundamental flaws that Logitech needs to address.
1. Make the keyboard (and mouse) directly connectible to the Mac's built-in Bluetooth and eliminate the superfluous Logitech USB dongle. (My Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Mouse works just fine this way with my Mac Book---no dongle.)
2. Add some sort of Caps Lock indicator (light in the key would work just fine).
3. Eliminate whatever it is that "talks" to the Mac while it's in Sleep mode and wakes it up. With the keyboard powered up, my Mac will not Sleep for more than about 5 seconds before waking up again. Talk about insomnia!
I own and operate a number of pieces of Logitech gear. The S 530 Cordless Desktop for Mac is the only one ever to disappoint.

Summary: Excellent product, but with two flaws
Comment: I am delighted with the mouse, and pleased with the keyboard except for two things. (1) There is no way to look at the keyboard and determine whether the Caps Lock is engaged. I assume that this is to conserve battery power. (2) The keybooard is extraordinarily sensitive to dust and hair, and must be vacuumed a couple of times each week. I have two house cats who love to roost in my lap, and their hair inevitably finds its way onto the keyboard. The original Macintosh keyboard was nowhere nearly this sensitive.
