Summary: Laser Printer
Comment: Excellent printer. I especially liked the fact that it has 3 different interfaces. It can be configured to use any and all of them and as a network printer.

Summary: Surprisingly nice printer
Comment: I got it for the duplex feature and the relatively cheap toner replacement; but I was surprised at how easy it was to configure, how good the drivers were (I'm a Mac user and demanding of my software and hardware), and how high the quality of the print was. I have it set to print on 600 dpi by default, which is its internal setting, and doubt I'll use the 1200 dpi setting much; I did change the density to make it lighter (nice way to save toner) which usually helps laser printers look "sharper." The configuration can be done via Web, and is quite extensive; likewise you can choose options when you print an individual job, again wtih an extensive list of choices. The defaults are pretty good, though. No problem with crinklies so far.

Summary: Great printer
Comment: I have enjoyed this printer (Brother's HL-5250DN) since I have had it. It is easy to set up and get running. I like the 'sleep' feature on it to save energy. If it is not used for a period of time, it shuts down and when you send a print job to it, it is ready to use in no time. I bought this from Amazon and the service was outstanding.

Summary: Great printer!
Comment: I bought this printer because I have a home office and was using an an all in one inkjet printer to print lengthy documents. Not only did the print run when I used a highlighter on printed documents, but printing was very slow, especially the duplex printing. I also went through printer cartridges like crazy.

A colleague recommended this printer and it's great. I have had it about 8 months and use it as my default printer now. I have not had to replace the toner cartridge yet (although I am purchasing one today since it has been so long and I want to have one on hand).

Speaking of printer cartridges, the price looks pretty reasonable (~$40). I think that's how much I pay for the one of the two cartridges I need for my inkjet.

The printer was easy to set up, so easy in fact that I don't really remember doing it.

At first I was a little worried because the printer runs a short while after it prints, but then it automatically goes into stand-by mode and it doesn't make a sound. Also, I usually sit about 4 feet away from the printer, so I am in close proximity to it. I'm really sound sensitive and if it was too loud, I would have sent it back. It's not a deal breaker at all. Just an FYI.

My only regret is that I didn't buy this printer with the second printer trays. It'd be nice to have regular paper loaded all the time in one tray, and envelopes loaded all the time and ready to print in the other.

Oh, the only thing I can mention is that I have a home finance software package (Quicken) and I can't print to the Brother printer from their software. Quicken says it's a known and ongoing issue with some Brother printers. It's not that big of deal for me, but it could be for some people.

Summary: Great printer..good speed and quality
Comment: Great printer, has good speed and quality. Sometimes has problems with the toner drum/cartridge lights due to seating of the toner drum but can be resolved very easily.
