Customer Rating: Summary: Get what you pay for Comment: What do you expect for 16 bucks? This is cheaply made and fell apart the day I got it.
The end cap on the handle is not the correct size and just falls off which makes it impossible to collapse the baton. I would save your money.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good product for the money! Comment: I was pretty satisfied with this product. Its not as tough as the more expensive ASP batons but unless you need one everyday, you cant go wrong with this ecspecially for the price. When I first got it once extending it, it was really difficult to close, but after unscrewing the end cap and spraying some WD40 in it, it worked perfectly.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very nice! Comment: This is my first time buying an extendable baton, and I am happy with it. I gave it only 3 stars because it can be a little hard to close it up again, and it's a little heavier than I expected. But it opens and locks into full extension in about 1 second, and I have no doubt I could easily defend myself from someone or some animal intent on doing me harm.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice Hardware Comment: This is a nice piece of hardware. Baton telescope at flick of wrist. It has to be jammed into something as hard as cement to get retracted. The harder you swing out baton, the more force you will need for it to retract.
Good for defense. Not too expensive like the ASP brand, but this will do for my wife and I.
The handle is rubber with a diamond style grip. The steel baton is sturdy. Friction keeps baton retracted until you swing it and expanded before you force close it.
Overall quality/price ratio is good. I would only use as defense, and SERIOUSLY. This is no toy, and can and will hurt somebody or something.
Customer Rating: Summary: shipping was awesome but product sucked basically.. Comment: ok so i ordered this item saturday night and it came to my house wednesday around noon, which was great because i was expecting it to come friday. and when i opened it, it was solid, hefty and seemed like decent quality metal.
but...
it takes a real strong snap to fully extend to a point where it will not retract. and after a couple good hits on something hard, it will bend and look retarded. and thats if it doesnt retract on you because first time i tested on a pole, it just became real loose and collapsed. and after i snapped it open really hard and hit the post a couple of times, the top piece bent and it would not close properly. it took me a good number of whacks on the same pole to get it straight-ish again.
oh well, for 16 bucks, i guess i was expecting a lil too much. I guess i have to look up mods to try and improve it. i got what i paid for, so next time i will just cough up the extra 50-70 and buy an asp.
