Customer Rating: Summary: Great Product! Comment: This is a great product! I would recommend this product.
I use the float in conjunction with swimies. The kids are doing so well they can swim around unlike the life jackets that they had before.
The only draw back to this product is that the belt tends to ride up. Either you make is so tight they can't breath and it doesn't ride up or you don't make it as tight and it ends up under their arms.
Customer Rating: Summary: Worth every cent! Comment: I purchased 7 of these for my kids last summer (2007). They worked great! They buckle on and off easily and are perfect for keeping the kids afloat while learning to swim. You can easily take out one or more layers of foam as the child becomes a better swimmer. These are the exact same type of back float that the YMCA uses in their swim classes, which is why I bought them. You won't be disappointed.
Customer Rating: Summary: Progressive Multi-Colored Back Float Comment: This Back-Float frees the child's arms so he/she is able to practice swimming while safe. The 3 yr old child wearing it weighs 40+ lbs., and we were surprised to learn how well this device "holds her up" in the water. Great product!
Customer Rating: Summary: Multi-colored back float Comment: These are the swim devices used at my local YMCA during swim instruction. It allows for the child to use their arms and legs to swim while providing them enough flotation to stay above water. The foam pads can be removed as the child requires less and less assistance. Great product for the child who is not quite swimming independently, but too big for tubes and life vests.
Customer Rating: Summary: great for helping child learn to swim Comment: Place the float low in the small of the child's back which will float them more horizontally. This position will encourage your child to kick and stroke, increasing their ability to swim independently.
Products like water wings and float jackets will certainly float your child, but will hinder their ability to actively swim.
