No need to have to wait by the grill to find out when dinner is ready. This wireless thermometer alerts you when the meat has reached the perfect temperature - even if you're in another room entertaining guests. Length of stainless steel meat probe - 3.28 feet /Temperature resolution - +-2ºF / Heat resistance - 158º F / Steel sensor probe's operating temperature Maximum - 482º F

Summary: Worked once, then died; no customer service response
Comment: I got this on sale last year for about $23. I thought it was a good deal at first, but I got what I paid for. I used it once in January, then decided it was too cold to grill out. So I took the batteries out and put it away until May. When I put the batteries back in, the remote base turned on, but the main unit would not. I tried a different set of batteries, but that didn't help either. Resetting and re-connecting the devices (as the manual suggested) was useless, because the unit just wouldn't power up. I sent an email through Oregon Scientific's website (because there's not a phone number to be found), and received no response. Well, if you count an auto-generated "thanks for your inquiry" type email, they did send that. After this poor experience, I will not buy another Oregon Scientific product.

Summary: Poor Quality Product - Customer Service Even Worse
Comment: Purchased this as my 3rd attempt with a remote meat thermometer. Like most units it was a bit flaky when wirelessly connecting the remote unit with the base. The range, however, was pretty good and the presets by meat type were useful. Like other reviewers, the unit decided about a month along to flash the maximum temperature and refused to ever work again. I made the mistake of emailing Oregon Scientific, who couldn't be bothered to reply to their own customer service email account. I have now given up on all digital and remote thermometers, and now buy the inexpensive analog models that actually work.

Summary: Great Gift
Comment: I bought this for my dad as a gift and he loves it! Hasn't used it yet but he's excited too!

Summary: No resting time
Comment: I got this for my dad for father's day so that he could watch sports and still keep track of his large roasts. His complaint is that if you set the roast for the Rare setting it will notify you when it reaches the appropriate temperature for rare, but most cooks know that you actually pull the roast from the oven before it reaches that temperature and then the temp rises as it sits on the countertop for another 10 minutes. This doesn't let you adjust the alarm temperature to take into account the resting time, so if you want rare beef you can't rely on the alarm, which is what I got it for, so it kind of defeats the purpose.

Comment: I bought two of these and neither worked. Customer service never responded and they just went in the trash.
