Customer Rating: Summary: good for a long cold minnesota winter Comment: we no longer live there but we used the happy light a lot when we were holed up for months on end in the bitterly cold and dark winters.
definite mood lightener. makes a long winter more bearable.
aptly named
Customer Rating: Summary: hmm...ok...but nothing beats the Comment: I live in Wisconsin where our winters are extremely brutal (it's April 10th 2008 today) & there are still traces of snow & it's 40 degrees out! So, I invested in this product to help me deal with the winter blues. I have been using it for a month now & I feel it is very artificial & almost to bright that it just gets annoying! I have not noticed much difference to be honest. I agree with the comment made that it's kind of like a "trip to Kmart" lol:) But, I have been messing around with it to suit my needs. The directions say not to use it to close to bedtime or at night, but, mysteriously enough (for me) when I use it at night, it does seem to give me more energy & prevents me from falling asleep watching tv at an early hour. So, that is the way I use it now. You also can find this model & others alot cheaper if you order off of e-bay! (sorry Amazon!). Here is a link to the seller I bought it from: [...]. She often has many Verilux products brand new & cheap (no problems). I guess it's worth a shot for anybody, everyone is different & their are many great reviews on here for this product as well. The Verilux people have wonderful customer service & get back to you right away:) Also, this product does NOT have a nasty smell like some reviews I have read. I would still recommend it to try, nothing to lose really with a 30 day money back guarentee!
Customer Rating: Summary: Happy light helps me sleep Comment: I am very happy with this light. I sit by it for 30 minutes in morning and sleep through the night.
Customer Rating: Summary: Poor workmanship Comment: I would not purchase this product again. Received new unit and it was defective. One of the balasts did not not work. Had to immediately send it back.
Customer Rating: Summary: There is no such thing as Seasonal Affective Disorder.... Comment: ...with this light. I have been using it for several weeks now and I must say that I am impressed. I have had a total mood change and I think the light has a lot to do with it. I turn it on every morning while I am getting dressed and have found that I am in a better mood throughout the day also. I strongly recommend this light if you are suffering from any type of seasonal affective disorder.
