Summary: Who's Daft Punk?
Comment: First of all I didn't know or ever heard of Daft Punk, but I came across this film on [...] because it's listed as one of the best animation films. I wanted to look for some film for my daughter to watch together and but because we saw all of Hayao Miyazaki's films already I wanted something different. I was expecting a cheese 80's/70's film from Japan but I was very surprised that it didn't have any dialogue and that the story was actually very interesting. I didn't expect my daughter to sit through the whole film, but she did and in the end she loved it so much that we saw it one more time.
I love films such as I-5555, Wall-E, and My Neighbor Totoro because they teach adults and kids life lessons that are hard to forget. I also hate films such as Pocahontas, Barbie, Lilo & Stich, or even the Emperor's New Groove because they only make your kids dumb. This films teaches everyone that if you do something you love for money you will eventually hate or regret doing that.
I don't believe you have to be a fan or know anything about Daft Punk to enjoy this film and even if you don't like anime you can feel an air of freshness that you can't get from your traditional American animations.

P.S. If your kid can't understand the concept of death or/and that heroes in real life sometimes die, don't show it to your kid.

Comment: The movie is amazing. I have been a Daft Punk fan for a long time and i needed this for part of my collection. Though no dialog is in the movie, you can understand what all is going on by the music and the outstanding animation. Daft Punk has amazing vision, and they should do another animated feature. With the use of their song Harder, Better, Faster, Stonger in the Kanye West song Stonger, this will probably bring about more fans for Daft Punk

Comment:
Well, what can I say? I've been looking this one from a long time. Japanese animation with french electronic dance music? A pretty weird combination but with excellent results.
It's a very good release with the complete history of the videos we've seen on MTV. The audio quality is great but the video lacks of definition. This last point is too bad considering the excellent job done by the legendary Toei Animation Studios.
It's a shame it doesn't include the extras from the japanese release. They would added a great value to this item.

Can we expect a Special Edition in the future? With aspect radio modified for widescreen screens? Maybe for the Blu-Ray release?? Who knows.
