Customer Rating: Summary: The Rumford Gardener Portable Greenhouse #GH7500 Comment: This rack is not sturdy. Very frustrating that after the assembly the bars comes off the rack. I try to fix one and then the other shelves bars comes off. I am afraid that some of my pots will fall out and break. Not worth to buy this item. Maybe other products are better. I should have listen to the other reviews that it is flimsy.
Customer Rating: Summary: No Response to Complaint Comment: The Rumford Gardener Portable Greenhouse #GH7500
Greenhouse arrived with broken, inoperative zipper on plastic cover. We called Rumford and were told to send them email. We did two months ago and have had no response. Meanwhile, we hold cover closed with tape. Don't bother with this item. Get something local.
Customer Rating: Summary: Rumford greenhouse issues Comment: Product is overall very good. A few issues I ran into were:
Its very light - wind will easily affect it. It sat on my deck with a rope around it and the rail to remain upright. I also placed some weight on the bottom shelf to keep it from rocking and throwing off my plant trays.
I also had to wire the sides together. It came apart too easily with the wind. I simple ran a wire from the right to the left side and tightened it so it wouldnt come apart. This was done at the top and bottom shelves.
After those issues the only thing I would add, night be a vent hole at the top - it can get quite warm in it!
Customer Rating: Summary: Mini Green House Comment: Nice stater green house. Easy assembly too! My plants are happy, getting well established from seed started in the green house. I only wish it had wheels to move around. Each shelf holds 2 starter seed trays. The hight is more than ample for your flowers or other larger plants. Does need weight if you have it out in a windy area. I tied filled water bottles to each leg ..... a keeper!
Customer Rating: Summary: A nice little greenhouse for the price Comment: Assembly was very easy, and my greenhouse held together just fine during moving it from inside the house to its current home next to the deck. I took others' advice and weighted the bottom shelf with a couple of gallon-sized milk jugs full of water (and heating the water before our 25-degree temp last night kept my plants toasty enough to survive the night just fine). I also stuck a couple of metal stakes through the bottom bars and staked it to the ground, so mine shouldn't tip over even in our often heavy gusts.
My only complaint about this greenhouse is the cover: While the plastic material seems durable, the zippers are of very poor quality. One was already missing its pull tab when I received the greenhouse; the other zipper's tab broke off the first time I used it. Also, there are ties sewn into a few interior seams to tie the cover to the frame as well as a tie sewn in near the top of the front flap for tying up the flap while accessing the interior. These ties are very flimsy and far too short to tie properly. Frankly, I doubt they will hold if enough of a wind gust whips under the cover. I may just sew my own longer, stronger ties into the cover one of these days.
Overall, though, this is a nice, adequate greenhouse for my season-extending needs.
