Summary: Using Adulescens
Comment: I buy this every year not for the magazine itself but for the vocabulary and ideas I get from it. I have Latin 1-III mandated at my school and the advanced students find this vocabulary difficult at times due to familiarity. Attention needs to be given to the use of the selected vocabulary with the major reading texts. There is no teachers guide as in the other languages. One is much needed. Magazine often comes late for the season. Use as a source selectively.

Summary: Fun Latin Magazine!
Comment: My Latin students range from 4th through Junior High. I especially enjoy Adulescens for the younger children because of the comics and activities such as crosswords and wordsearches. The magazine includes descriptions from ancient Rome as well as vocabulary from both ancient and modern times. Modern vocabularies may include, computer, calculator, etc. and are used to label the illustrated pictures. Many of these words are not included in the standard College Latin Dictionary and are thus useful to have. My students really enjoy these magazines.
