Comment: This is a great extension to the Windows 98 line of operating systems. Unfortunately it is also the last in that line. The flexibility of having a modern operating system with Dos compatibility was a great idea so long as it was handled correctly.

Comment: I have this OS on an old laptop and it is truly madning. Crashes like there's no tommorw. Security holes the size of the ozone.

Comment: I am very pleased that Windows ME runs 50% better on my black MacBook than it ever did on my old HP desktop. Microsoft should be embarrassed! It is possible to run this OS better than even XP or Vista but you will need to know how to manually install many of the drivers.

Summary: the worst version of Windows since Windows 2.0
Comment: Windows Me is basically Windows 98 with a fancy new name to allude to the year it was released (2000)...it was just some PR stunt. As with Windows 98, Windows Me is crash prone...so expect to see one BSoD (Blue Screen of Death) after another. I tried Windows Me back when it was released...I went right back to Windows 98...and since then I have migrated to Linux.
Really, there is no reason to use Windows 98 or Windows Me on ANY computer. If you have to have an OS but don't want Windows XP or the upcoming Windows Vista, then your best best for your Wintel PC is to switch to an easy-to-use Linux distro such as Xandros, Ubuntu/Kubuntu, Linspire, or Freespire.

Summary: Don't ever buy this
Comment: For those who says that ME works properly, I would like to know which computer they have. ME is garbage.....I was going crazy everyday, reinstalling the program. I was a master, an expert doing that. An everyday new crash. I bought XP and my life changed, My girlfriend now loves me and everything is different in my life.
