Comment: Has a great feel, smooth action, nicely balenced, and a good edge.
My advice to you: keep your fingers clear!

Only negative: the pocket clip angles outwards from the knife. I snaged it on my car door and it broke off. I am hopeing that SOG can get me a replacement.

Summary: Got a 2nd for me.
Comment: I had the big brother to this knife, the Sog PE18. I loved the knife but then I have an Air Force friend that because of her profession, puts herself into harms way, more often than not. I gave it to her as a gift, hoping that she never has to use it in anger, but in the certain knowledge that if she does, it will stand up to the test.

Very (incredibly so) dependable. I would not have entrusted by best friend (2nd to my wife) with anything less. Or for that matter myself. Love this knife.

By the by, one of pix that Amazon shows for this knife is NOT the PE 14. The PE 14 (like the 18) has the "shark tooth" point. Looks like the Sog "Mini X-Ray Vision".

Very easy (and switch blade quick!) to open. Feels good in the hand.

This is a tool and a friend.

This is the only style of Sog knife I have ever owned, but I would not hesitate to buy another style.

If you have a military family member/friend, you would not go wrong giving them this knife. There's no one in uniform (police as well) that would not appreciate this knife as a gift or the sentiment that would be implied by it as a gift.

Summary: workhorse with style and grace
Comment: I bought this knife about 2 years ago and it has been my daily carry knife ever since. the Arc-Lock mechanism has got to be one of the best innovations in locking technology I have ever come across. It opens and closes faster than a switchblade but is completely legal. Once you get used to the fully ambidextrious action, it can be operated with one hand by feel with ease. The blade design and balance is perfect for a work knife. The shark tooth tip keeps it from being bent easily and the bead blasted finish keeps it looking good. Due to the fact that it is a high carbon, non-stainless material, small rust spots do appear but can be buffed out easily with emory cloth.

The only weaknesses that I see in this knife are that the shark tooth tip does make it a bit harder to perform delicate tasks such as cleaning under your fingernails. Also, the leaf springs used in the Arc-Lock are prone to breaking which make the mechanism not as smooth. This however, has only happened to me once in the 2 years of heavy use and SOG mailed me new springs no questions asked.

Overall, I cannot recommend this knife strongly enough, especially the Arc-Lock. If you are in the market for this size/type of knife, you will fall in love with it.

Comment: I just got this knife today and wow did it get here fast! It actually got here before the estimated shipping date! The knife is very sharp and it only took me a couple of minutes to get the hang of opening and closing it. When you flick this knife open, it has a very cool sounding snap to it. If you're looking to get an awesome knife in a very timely manner, this is the one for you.
