For spreading olive oil evenly on bruschetta, focaccia, and grilled or roasted vegetables, and for spraying muffin and cake pans with vegetable oil, this dispenser is a nifty tool. A plastic cap underneath the sprayer's top twists off so the sprayer can be half-filled (1/3 cup) with oil. Inside the top is a plastic tube that fits over the spray nozzle. Push the top up and down to pump air pressure into the canister. Then spray for 10 seconds and pump up again. It's simple, ingenious, and practical. With its cap on, the sprayer stands just 7-5/8 inches high, so it tucks away easily on any countertop. Made of satin-finish stainless steel with a black-band accent, it's sleek as well as utilitarian. --Fred Brack

Customer Rating: Summary: GREAT gadget!! Comment: I can't figure out why some had so much trouble. I bought mine at BB&B with the 20% coupon and never had to return it even after a year of use.
I agree with some that it shot a weak stream of oil initially. The solution was to pump the mechanism with the lid on a few times and PRESTO and fine spray it emitted!!!!! It even sprayed for a few seconds like the commercially made aerosol canned oil (starts with "P" and rhymes with bam.. tee hee). It's not meant to last forever and even if it needs annual repacement, it's certainly less expensive the aforementioned counterpart. Go buy one now!!
Customer Rating: Summary: NICE ITEM! Comment: I hesitated to order one after reading the negative reviews but I did it anyway. Since receiving it and using it for almost 6 months I've decided those reviewers don't know how to use it. I love mine and use it almost every day. I've saved a lot of money not buying Pam for the same purpose.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Mister Comment: I loved it, light weight, it really mist not spray. Just remember fill it half way throw and don't pump more than 10 times.
Customer Rating: Summary: Metal is mostly asthetic Comment: I've had a plastic version of this mister which has served me well for many years and was looking for another only in case the first one finally failed. I chose a metal one hoping that metal would make it even tougher (to last even longer ;^). But, although I had the impression that the entire unit would be metal, in fact, only the outer shell that is so -- the inner workings remain the plastic vessel, etc.
Of course my plastic one has become discolored with age, but the plastic shell is tough and I wouldn't worry about much less than an elephant footfall to hurt it.
On the bright side, I expect the metal version to retain it's surface appearance for its lifespan (so it would be good for those who want everything neat, tidy and matching in their kitchen).
Other than the materials issue, the mister works as expected -- pump it up well and it mists well, less pressure leads to "spitting and dribbling."
Customer Rating: Summary: Stylish Garbage Comment: The Misto arrived and we happily filled it about half-way with oil per instructions. Pumped it and sprayed. Worked well but pressure seemed low. Looked a plunger and found it was cracked. Returned it to Amazon for a replacement. That arrived quickly at no charge. We opened it and looked at the plunger. OMG! It was cracked in the same place! We are returning it for money back. Too bad. This could be a super little product but clearly the manufacturer either does not care or is simply not capable of making a real product.
