Sturdy armchair with gracefully arching back Crafted from Shorea wood, similar to teak but more dense and heavy Easy assembly of 5 pre-assembled pieces required Mortise and tenon construction Measures 23-1/2 by 23-1/2 by 33 inches
Outdoor furniture doesn't have to be ruggedly styled to be durable, as Oxford's Chadwick collection proves. This elegant armchair combines Oxford's sophisticated design and superior manufacturing, and the result is yours to enjoy for years. The chair is crafted from Shorea wood, a semihardwood similar to teak, and is ideally suited for outdoor use. While rain and sun can damage lesser woods, Oxford's armchair will endure season after season in your garden, weathering to a warm shade of gray. Built using mortise-and-tenon joinery (the most structurally sound method), the armchair features solid wood dowel construction. You will receive the chair partially assembled; it only takes about 30 minutes to complete the assembly.

Customer Rating: Summary: These table and chairs are gorgeous! Comment: I've priced ones that look just like these and they price out as high as $5000 for a table and 4 chairs. These were one of the smartest buys I think I've ever made in my life. I did a little research on teak oil and I bought Briwax (from their website). We are very happy with the result. Customer Rating: Summary: Easy assembly great chair! Comment: Received this chair 3 days after i ordered it, awsome! quality is 100%, assembly was a breeze, and the finished product looks like a $350 teak chair. The only problem, wish the seat was a bit longer, but that is not a big problem, great buy at an amazing price for what you get, highly recommend. make sure you order the matching cushion for comfort! Customer Rating: Summary: Very Good Chair, Reasonable Price Comment: This chair goes together effortlessly. Fit and finish was perfect. I think it took about ten minutes to assemble. Add another ten minutes to put teak oil on it (to preserve the natural wood color) and that's about it.
If you plan to sit in the chair for more than about ten minutes, I'd highly recommend the Oxford chair seat cushion, your back side will be forever glad. Customer Rating: Summary: Quality and Style -- Take it from a Wood Worker Comment: I was surprised and pleased to receive the four Chadwick Collection Oxford Garden Designs armchairs I ordered only three days earlier. As a wood worker myself, I was amazed at the quality of construction, elegance of design and sturdiness of the assembled chairs. While the first chair took about fifteen minutes to assemble while reading instructions, the remaining three took only about five each. More importantly, the shorea wood came very close to matching the teak wood table I also bought (just a shade more red and with a bit less distinctive wood grain), thereby saving me about half the price of teak chairs. Moreover, the shorea wood chairs are noticably more substantial in weight and therefore would seem more durable. The only negative with the chairs was some small glue spots which became apparent with dampness. About ten minutes of light hand sanding corrected the problem for all four chairs. I couldn't be more delighted with the quality and workmanship of the chairs and have considered taking off the metal labels to encourage friends to think I made them! Customer Rating: Summary: Pleased, but... Comment: I spent an hour today putting together two of the Oxford Garden Desighns Chadwick Collection armchairs, plus the rectangular dining table. They were really easy to put together - so easy, in fact, that I'm a bit worried that they won't hold up. They are very attractive, however, so I have my fingers crossed. In all seriousness, they do seem at least as well put together as what I found in stores (and for much less money). The only drawback is that imperfections in some of the wood pieces, which I understand are normal, can't be easily dealt with (or swapped out), as would presumably be the case if I'd bought these locally.
