The 1-4 cup setting ensures you can make a cup or two without altering the temperature or flavor of the coffee. And if you're in a big hurry, rest assured you can grab a cup thanks to the pause and serve function.

In keeping it simple Cuisinart could have left that feature alone. Other than that it's a great coffee maker and priced fairly. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent low cost coffee maker Comment: This is our third purchase of this coffee maker. Yes the glass urn does break. Otherwise the subtle ways in which Cuisinart has designed this coffee maker brings out a high quality taste. We use the 4-cup feature, and it does make a difference in controlling the rate by which the water drips into the grounds. You must take care to close the filter holder shut, or there could be a drip problem. It's a shame our local retailers do not carry this particular maker. Thanks, Amazon, for keeping this in stock. Comment: I just reviewed a previous recent coffeemaker I bought here whose carafe inexplicably cracked quite soon in our relationship. This Cuisinart model is not another cheap model even though its cost was modest. The carafe is made of heavier glass so I don't feel like I'm handling an eggshell pot, and it doesn't drip and spill when pouring, yay. There are a couple of extra switches and dials on the machine that seemed mysterious, but the simple and brief manual actually explains them rather well. Imagine a readable manual written in good English! My very first pot of coffee tasted noticeably better than that from the old machine. This coffeemaker requires cone-shaped filters, whether paper or permanent, or both (my preference). I really like it. Customer Rating: Summary: DCC-100 Brew Basket Comment: Cuisinart DCC-100 Coffee Bar Classic 10-Cup Coffeemaker, White After about 3 weeks the plug at the bottom of the brew basket fell out and was lost. Cuisinart replaced the basket by UPS in a week. The purpose of the plug is to stop the flow if the carafe is removed while the coffee is still dripping. It being missing did not affect the quality of the coffee. The DCC-100 is a great value for the price.
