Comment: I love my Microplane Grater/Zester! I was looking for one around here locally, but they seem hard to find. Finding one on Amazon through AceHardware has been wonderful. Mine came in excellent condition and it comes in handy for so many things from zesting a lemon really fine to grating Nutmeg for Eggnog - I love it. Microplane zesters are just what you need when you want a little, not a lot. I recommend this product to anyone and everyone.

Summary: Zesting With This Was Easy and Productive
Comment: I'm a first time "zester", and after reading the reviews I decided to buy this product. I've been cooking more at home for the family and decided to explore the art of stir frying. Many of the recipes call for lemon zest or orange zest. I didn't know what "zest" was and had to look up the definition. Sure enough, I typed up zest in the amazon search field and found this product. This zester works really well; I'm especially glad that I ordered the one with the handle. The lemon and orange zest is fine and free of pith.

Summary: Attn Bakers: Can't live with out it!
Comment: Well, I've had this rasp for years now and it still performs like the day I got it. The zester is essential to all bakers (home cooks or pros). I previously owned the zester that had no handle, and purchased this one because I thought it would be easier to use (not that the other one was "difficult" but this one is definitely better in design). The handled one allows you to zest even near the end of the lemon with the curved part of the grater.
Lemons, oranges, and limes are what I use it for mostly. I used to use it for parmesan, but found that it was almost too fine of a grate, so I just purchased the medium ribbon grater by Microplane (skinny, long one too) and it's perfect for the job. Makes perfect shreds for all hard cheeses and is better for chocolate. But, LOVE them both. Makes me wonder what the heck people did before they marketed these things! anyway - great prices on Amazon for this as the specialty kitchen shops around town tend to mark these things up (horrendously!). Buy it, you will not regret it! It is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets of all time.
