It's constructed of very good quality vinyl/plastic and feels heavy and thick. The surface is pretty tacky and tends to collect dust/debris that I find a little hard to wash off. But it protects the grill very well and I expect that it will be pretty durable under mild California weather. No response from Amazon when I asked "Why do you continue to offer/advertise this grill cover as fitting the Weber Performer grill when previous customer comments dating back to 2006 clearly state that it does not." I didn't notice the comments until after I bought the cover, found it didn't fit the Performer grill, returned it, and bought the right one locally from Ace Hardware.
