Summary: Way beyond expectations
Comment: Occasionally I like cover versions of songs as much as, or even better than, the originals, e.g. All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix, and We Can Work It Out by Stevie Wonder. Big Mountain's version of Baby I Love Your Way is in this category and I bought this CD after hearing that song on the radio, not expecting to find other songs I liked as much as that one. (I don't know how many CDs I own which have only one song I really like.) Well I was astonished to find 3 other songs I liked even more - Get Together, I Would Find A Way, and All Kinds Of People. The other songs are good too. Top musicians, smooth grooves - and no worries on lyrics for the little ones either. All reggae lovers should buy this CD.

Summary: Takes you to the islands...
Comment: One of a few of this genre I purchased to play as background music for an "Island Style" wine and cheese party at my home. This is the CD guests wanted the name of to buy for themselves. Have to admit, it's become one of my favorites and is played often.

Summary: BIG MOUNTAIN'S BEST OF ALBUM
Comment: WARNER BROTHERS RECORDS COMPILED BIG MOUNTAIN'S MOST COMMERCIAL RADIO HIT SONGS AND ADDED A FEW OF THEIR ROOTS TUNES. THIS IS A GREAT ALBUM FOR A SUMMERTIME PARTY.

Summary: Upful & Right
Comment: Wow! I am still blown away by this album. I have been a big fan since WAKE UP first hit the CD racks, but this "best of" compilation is easily greater than the sum of it's parts. This is my third time to purchase this album. It seems to be the the first one to "disappear" from my collection during spring break. If you are not familiar with Big Mountain, this is a great stepping stone. There are several reggae-ized cover songs like Peter Frampton's "Baby, I Love Your Way" that should sound cheesey, but actually never sounded better. You'd think this was the original version, not a remake. The original tunes are pure and solid. Big Mountain is a strange and wonderful blend of raw reggae & uplifting melodies. The music is honest and positive, but true to it's roots. No fluff here, just a great outlook on life.

Summary: This CD Won't be a letdown
Comment: Although I have not heard "Lean on Me" on any of their previous CD's, I can tell you this CD Will not be a letdown. I own their previous 4 releases, Unity, Wake Up, Free Up, and Resistance. Their music has not yet disappointed me. They have a cool blend of swingin' reggae style, and the vocal stylings of Quino (the lead singer) are excellent. Buy it! Improve your outlook on life! I know they are some of the best music you can listen to when you're depressed.
