Editorial Reviews:

An indispensable and definitive collection showcasing the passionate genius of the late rapper. The album's nonchronological sequence highlights the contradictory impulses that made Tupac's music so commanding; the 21 well-loved "hits," some slightly reedited for legal reasons, are accompanied by four previously unheard songs. Of the new material, the raw-sounding "God Bless the Dead" has been the subject of the most speculation, owing to its subject matter: a eulogizing of the late Notorious B.I.G.--a mysterious feat, since Tupac was killed six months before Biggie. And, making its first proper appearance on a Tupac album, the B-side "Hit 'Em Up" stands as the most intense outburst of pure venomous rage ever captured on tape. Whether he's waxing political, philosophical, or just plain paranoid, Tupac's empathetic, charismatic style remains unmatched. --Charley Gothic

Customer Rating: Summary: Great collection Comment: This is definitely overall a great collection of 2Pac songs. It contains lots of the classics which include some of my favourite songs by him ever such as Hail Mary and So Many Tears. Plus some very impressive unreleased cuts like "Troublesome 96" and "Changes", the legendary Hit Em Up, and the much better original version of California Love.
It's a very good starting place for anyone who's thinking about getting into Pac's music. However if it as my job to put together a collection of Pac's work, I'd probably just do a "very best of" you know because out of Pac's hits there are a few overrated tracks such as "All Bout U" and "How Do U Want It" It would be much better I think to make up an album consisting of his very best cuts which would have to include ones like Ambitionz Az A Ridah, Me And My Girlfriend, Pour Out A Little Liquor and plenty more. Infact you'd probably need more like 3 or 4 discs to make an album like that.
But anyway getting this wouldn't be a bad idea at all, especially if your new to 2Pac's music or even new to rap.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not A greatest hits...lacks a few missing pieces Comment: I'm not gonna bash Pac or rap in this like most of the other folks did but I will give you a genuine review...whereas the songs are good on this album they lack the beauty of smile...Until The End Of Time etc etc...now I gave this a one specifically for that reason...to this day smile is played on MTV...be it Scarface or not Pac was in it...anyways...due to lacking them songs it was weak...it seemed slapped together
Customer Rating: Summary: Greatest Hits from The Greatest Comment: Some may like the early work from Pac but this is the collection and includes some early work and the last. You can't buy this album and ecpect to get to enoy all the magic this rapper gave the world. So buy them all!
Customer Rating: Summary: A Strong Compilation Comment: A nice compilation. I'm not a huge rap fan, but 2Pac made some incredible music, and a lot of it can be found on this set.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best Rapper Of All TIIIIIIME!! Comment: There's no doubt that 2pac was a lyrical genius. His flow was the greatest. If you are a true 2pac fan you need to see him perform live by getting the dvd 2pac and Snoop Dog Live at The House Of Blues. He was truly a remarkable talent who died too young. But he still lives in us through his music. It's impossible to get all of his great tracks on 2 cd's but this was a very good start.
