Summary: More Good Calls from the Boys...
Comment: Just like the original Jerky Boys tape before it,' The Jerky Boys 2' offers more silly, often vulgar prank phone calls that will make even the most hardened person crack a smile. Although it's not quite as consistently good as the original, new creative calls such as `Pico's Mexican Hairpiece', `Gay Hairdresser', and `Pizza Lawyer' make up for its short-comings.

There are some useless, throwaway calls such as `Pet Cobra' and `Security Service' (which was never funny to begin with and drags on too long) but overall the good outweighs the bad. If you've heard the original you know what kind of hilarious stuff you're getting into.

Summary: the tape is 10 times better
Comment: Back in the 90's, I bought Jerky Boys part 2 on a cassette tape, not a cd. After the crank-call concerning the scaffolding, you'd think that was the end of the tape, as it's the last title listed. Suddenly, you hear number-tones being dialed, and suddenly there's an answering-machine greeting say that you've reached 'Doggie do's and don'ts, a K-9 obedience
training school, after the beep leave a message and 1 of their staff would call you back.' When you hear the beep, you hear a dog growling, and the guy who does the voice to Frank Rizzo starts screaming to death while the dog is attacking him and growling. It's HILARIOUS, and I can't understand why it's only on the old-fashioned cassette-tape and not on the cd?

Summary: The Jerkys Strike Back
Comment: While not quite as good as the original album (mostly because the novelty effect has worn off), this is still a very funny crank-call album that any fan of the genre should own.

While some of the calls are repetitive or drag on too long ('Terrorist Pizza' and 'Sex Therapy', for example), most of the pranks here are gems. The hopeless, neurotic Sol Rosenberg really comes into his own here, with the hilarious 'Ball-Game Beating', 'Sol's Nude Beach,' and 'Sol's Phobia' calls. And Frank Rizzo is a riot as always. Both of these characters are voiced by John Brennan, who does most of the good material on the Jerky Boys albums. His sidekick Kamal is basically along for the ride, providing the occasional chuckle at best.

All in all, it's a very solid effort from the Jerkys, with a lot of quotable lines. I wouldn't pay $16-20 for it, but I'm sure you can get it used for a reasonable price.

Summary: They're tellin' me this, that and the other thing
Comment: This could be the best Jerky Boys album, a collection of classic material.

Starting with the silly 'Pablo Honey', which sounds like the boys pranking a friend, it moves into classic Rizzo territory with 'Drinking Problem', where Frank indicates he's 'sick', but still questions if it's a problem with 'the drinking'.

It gets more vulgar and demented and hilarious with Sol asking about his warts (disgusting, but funny), Frank doing his thing on 'Volunteer', Kamal doing 'Terrorist Pizza' (perhaps funnier today, in a sick way?) All the characters get their time here, with Rizzo leading the pack, along with Sol ('I'm so...insecure!') to Jack Tors getting some demented air time to Kissel threatening the help, and of course a magician and his pet cobra.

The Jerky Boys are an aquired taste for sure, maybe it's a New York thing, or a vulgar thing, but they put out four very funny CDs before fading off with a fifth and sixth.

Be warned, it's vulgar and at times downright demented ('A Little Emergency', 'Sol's Nudist Beach') but it's very funny. Johnny B (Rizzo, Sol, Tors) is arguably a comic genius, and he pretty much WAS the Jerky Boys. Also, be warned, you may find yourself breaking out quotes from this collection years later.

Summary: Jerky Boys at their Best
Comment: The first one was Great. But on this one they really were getting creative. The stories they come up with on this one are just INSANE.

Without giving too much away (so don't read on if you don't want to), some of the funniest stuff on this cd include genital warts, a REALLY crazy gay hairdresser, the hilarious mexican pico, Sol being afraid of his own shadow (hahaha), firing greased up potatoes through a tennis machine, a very humorous attempt on word play with "security service", and all kinds of other crazy stuff. Then there's "pizza terrorist" which leaves you amazed that they didnt end up getting arrested for doing it.
