Customer Rating: Summary: All star players, perfect recording quality... one of the greatest jazz Christmas concerts ever. Comment: I have owned this for years and I love it. Its a fabulous Christmas concert that you will no doubt want to hear many times every December.
Customer Rating: Summary: first christmas gift every year since then!! Comment: I lived in NY for 7 years and "that" was my first freeezing Christmas in town. Since then this record has been around every year, warming my heart and making new friends every year. All my friends and relatives are fans. I think it's the mix of classic, jazzy, oldie, the excellene of the perfomances and a touch of magic. Sometimes makes me cry , other times is pure happiness....Five stars to my favorite Christmas album----waiting for the DVD
Customer Rating: Summary: One of the best classical Christmas albums Comment: In my opinion, this is one of the best classical Christmas albums. It's not only for classical music fans. It features familiar classical songs as well as hymns and secular Christmas songs. In other words, it's easy on the ear for those who are not usual fans of high pitched soprano sounds.
Customer Rating: Summary: One of my favorite Christmas CDs Comment: Oh my, this is just one of my absolute favorite Christmas CDs. It has a wonderful variety of music on it, with excellent musicians. Kathleen Battle, Frederica von Stade, and Winton Marsalis just shine on this CD. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves music, especially classical.
Customer Rating: Summary: uplifting Comment: I saw this broadcast in 1991 or 1992 and have it on video. My only regret is that the concert is not available as a DVD, because the wonder is as much in the impassioned and dramatic 'conversations' between the three stars as in the sounds they produce. Still, until then, this is unforgettable stuff.
