Summary: Natural Beauty
Comment: Having loved the concept of the book so long ago, I was particularly pleased with the visual beauty presented in the video. This felt, truly, like a gift!

Summary: Neil Diamond Seagull
Comment: This is a wonderful CD at a very reasonable price. My wife and I heard it while staying at our daughter's home. My wife knew that it was Neil Diamond singing but it took us a while to find the name of the CD. It is really very inspirational music.

Summary: A Remarkable Soundtrack
Comment: This is one of those albums, torn and tattered, that I heard growing up on the stereo in the house. The images that came to mind still fill my head today, even though I've since seen the movie and read the book.

Neil Diamond's singing voice and the orchestration are top notch. I haven't listened to it in awhile. Lately, I've been blowing the dust off old CDs I bought back when they first started issuing them in the 80s and listening to them again. Why didn't I listen to this more frequently? I ask myself.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull is a musical journey that is fun to take. From the first note to the last, you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Of the three treatments, this is the one that still holds up...
Comment: The book of JLS sold tons of copies back in the early '70's, when New Age religious thought experienced a surge in popularity. The film of JLS was much, much less successful, but for those of us who bought and read and re-read the darn little book, it was still a "must-see." The real winner, though, turned out to be Neil's film score on LP. I think I wore my copy out in only a few years. Recently, I bought the CD version, and found that I still enjoy listening to his composition. It brings back memories of a time when I studied and practiced psychic spiritually-based (I hope) mediumship, and meditated every Saturday night with my sister and brother-in-law and their circle of friends, and met a special woman who was my love for six months, and is still a dear friend 35 years later. The "JLS" phenomenon was a big part of my 1973-'74 world, and while I have no interest in reading the book again, or seeing the film version again, I am glad I can put on this disc and relax to Mr. Diamond's inspiring songs and tunes.

Summary: Jonathan Livingston Seagull / Slow Film/ Profound Messege
Comment: This film is very slow. Unfortunately no where close as interesting as the book. There where a few moments that captured my attention. I think for those who are looking for the same gusto as the book gave us you will be gravely disappointed. The message is still the same: Profound spiritually empowering.
