Editorial Reviews:

A psychopath nicknamed Buffalo Bill is murdering women across the Midwest. Believing it takes one to know one, the FBI sends Agent Clarice Starling (Foster) to interview a demented prisoner who may provide clues to the killer's actions. That prisoner is psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Hopkins), a brilliant, diabolical cannibal who agrees to help Starling only if she'll feed his morbid curiosity with details of her own complicated life. As their relationship develops, Starling is forced to confront not only her own hidden demons, but also an evil so powerful that she may not have the courage or strength to stop it!

Summary: Great Movie. But not in the league of "SE7EN"
Comment: Great job by Anthony Hopkins (Hannibal) and Jodie Foster (Clarice). It wasn't scary or as yucky as people told me. I'm still one of the believers that "SE7EN" is a much superior movie. This was on O.K. movie. Intense, yes. But not that shocking. I don't understand what the talk has been about, all these years. I wasn't that impressed. Maybe I was trying too hard to compare Hopkins to Kevin Spacey. But then again, Hopkins has more space to develop in this movie than Spacey did. But Kevin Spacey didn't need it. There I go again - comparing. Oooooops!

Summary: Excellent!
Comment: This movie is my all-time-favorite! Great actors, director, performances, and screenplay! Oh, and you should try to locate the "motif", and how the protagonist relates to the victim of the film.

Summary: Brilliant but yucky!!!!!!
Comment: There's no denying Hopkins mastery in this movie.
Foster is equally masterful.
The script, direction, atmosphere is simply brilliant.
I'm not new to gore but I don't like the cannibal stuff.
Yuck!!!!!!!
A brilliant movie that will take its place in horror history.
It's a must see movie for horror or thriller fans, but it's not appropriate for kids.
Easily in the top twenty of all time best horror films.
Recommended!!!

Summary: Kept me wanting more from start to finish
Comment: The Silence of the Lambs is hard to recommend. Others who never dare to tread inside the mind or get shocked and scarred on the mere fact that a doctor who knows the mind also happens to eat people will hate this. The others that find darkness and the darkness of the human nature will find this movie one to think about, and will love it. I find it completely awesome that this movie covers so much of the dark side of human nature.

First off, this movie is just incredibly well played out, directed, and acted. The music and the way everything is set up makes everything flow so well, and it drives the point home. Just witness how Clarice's first encounter with Hannibal. Everything is executed so well you can really feel tense anticipating that first encounter with a man who is said to rip you apart from the body to the mind. Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins, both well acted, they do a great job. Anthony Hopkins deserved all the awards, especially because he makes his character so memorable despite his small screen time. And props to Buffalo Bill as well, and the kidnapped daughter (I could really feel the distress she was going through down in that hole). You can really feel the characters.

The story is the main part. Using a serial killer to find a serial killer is kind of absurd, but I found that Hannibal Lector is compelling as he is. He is the best serial killer in a movie. Having the brains of a genius who knows the mind more than someone knows themselves goes to show brains do help. The mere fact he knows that, along with being a cannibal, awesome. Watching a killer like that makes me wonder if there are people like Lector in the neighborhood. There could be people like that. It's very real (though to be fair, any idiot can put on a mask and weld a knife).

The Silence of The Lambs may not scare you, so don't really write it off as this really scary movie that will make you shake all over if it doesn't. It's really just a fascinating, entertaining movie that will make you want more until the credits roll. Watch it. If you don't like it, that's fine, but you should just watch it. If you haven't, do it.

Comment: This was a gift for my man - a fan of this series. A good choice - the second DVD has lots of good fyi's, and of course, the movie rocks.
